The
1RU Fixed Expansion Chassis comes standard with one HP SureStore
DAT24 installed and one external SCSI cable. The DAT24 drive
is fast by offering 24 GB compressed capacity and a compressed
transfer rate of 7.2 GB/hr. These drives also read and write
DDS-1 and DDS-2 media. The chassis has a view window in the
bottom to allow access of the configuration switches for each
device mounted. Independent 5VDC and 12VDC power supplies,
supply power for up to two devices. The input power for the
chassis uses a standard IEC 320 connecter with bail. Front
panel controls consist of a guarded on/off rocker switch.
Each DAT drive has an eject button and indicators for Tape
and Clean.

SAIC engineers have designed a rugged 1RU Fixed Expansion
Chassis that will hold up to two 3.5” half-height form
factor devices. The chassis is designed for integration into
harsh industrial/tactical environments, and offers reduced
installation time into enclosures utilizing standard EIA 310
guidelines.
The
1RU Fixed Expansion Chassis qualified for Grade A Certification
in the GCCS-M Rack Configuration Environmental Blast Test
performed on August 23, 2002.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
The
1RU Fixed Expansion Chassis met the Grade A shock qualification
criteria as part of the GCCS-M unit 9 at a simulated deck
frequency of 8 Hz.
