1RU EMI-Enhanced 8 Circuit Power Distribution Assembly (PDA)
 
FEATURES:

All switches and circuit breakers (CBs) are MIL-SPEC qualified components, which resolves the problem of incidental CB trip upon shock impact. All circuitry, indicators, and relays are solid state for reliability and increased life expectancy.

The PDA accepts standard GCCS-M, ISNS, and TIDS rack version thermal alarm and includes a Battle Short override circuit and UPS interfaces.

The PDA fits EIA standard 19-in rack opening and includes cable treatment for ease of access when using the standard GCCS-M, ISNS, or TIDS racks.

The front panel includes AC output switches for eight independent outputs. A separate output is provided for fans or blowers mounted in the rack. The unit is protected by a 20 Amp MIL-SPEC main circuit breaker. and a master EMI filter.

Front panel LED indicators show power status and alarm conditions. An audible alarm is also provided. Alarm conditions are latched until reset by an operator or technician at the front panel.

SAIC developed an EMI enhanced version of the 1RU 8 Circuit Power Distribution Assembly (PDA) for use in the DTC-2, TAC-3, TAC-4 and other standard 19” EIA racks.

The environmental requirements of major SPAWAR programs such as Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M), Tactical Integrated Digital Systems (TIDS) and others, required EMI compliance in accordance with MIL-STD-461E. Grade A shock and vibration are still required. The original PDAs used in many of these programs were 3RUs and were the full depth of the racks. The SAIC EMI Enhanced 1RU 8 Circuit PDA uses one third the rack space of the original. The compact size allows programs and their integrators to use the additional rack space for equipment and provides two more load circuits than the original 3RU PDAs. Unique power distribution, cabling, and pin outs are required to meet the EMI specifications, so the new 1RU EMI Enhancd 8-Circuit PDA is not plug and play with the older, non-EMI units. Changing out the original rack power harness with shielded cabling will help ensure EMI compliance.
