| The
SAIC VA SIE Enclosure is designed to be integrated into either
the deep (28”) or shallow (24”)
style of VA SIE and can accommodate any number of required rack
units for integrated equipment. The enclosure provides EIA 19” stainless
steel railing systems at both the front and the rear of the assembly
to provide industry standard mounting for COTS equipment. A sealed
door and rear entry cable panel has been integrated into the
enclosure to meet MIL-STD EMI, noise, and drip requirements.
The SAIC VA SIE Enclosure is complimented with a variety of options
for integrated power distribution and system cooling in order
to provide a complete Ready-To-Integrate (RTI) enclosure for
COTS or GFE equipment.
Optional
VA SIE Enclosure Power Distribution System
The optional power distribution system provides a MIL-S-901D
Grade A Eight (8) Circuit Power Distribution Assembly (PDA)
with integrated
battleshort and thermal sensing functions. Additionally, a MIL-S-901D
Grade A True On-Line 2 or 2.4 KVA Uninterruptible Power Supply
(UPS) with integrated isolation transformer is also provided
with the power system option to provide power backup, line
conditioning,
and fault protection for the integrated equipment. Both the PDA
and UPS have recently been tested and certified for MIL-S-901D
Grade A and EMI requirements in other PEO C4I rack systems. All
MIL-Spec power distribution cabling and cable management hardware
is provided with the VA SIE Enclosure optional power distribution
system.
Optional
VA SIE Enclosure Air Cooled cooling system
The optional air cooled cooling system provides up to 1110
CFM for the VA SIE Enclosure providing enough cooling for
up to 11,000 to 12,000 BTU of heat generation depending
on the turbulance factor of the equipment layout. The cooling
system is designed to intake ambient air at the bottom front
of the enclosure and exhaust at the top front of the enclosure.
Additionally, the cooling system is designed to be as quiet
as possible in order to meet MIL-STD-1474D and MIL-STD-740-2
requirements. Both the input and exaust are filtered at
the enclosure door with removable filter systems for pollutant
protection and to accommodate preventive maintenace.

The SAIC Tactical Information Systems Division has developed
a completely sealed rugged modular enclosure designed to meet
stringent MIL-STD Shock, Vibration, EMI, Noise, and drip proof
requirements for US Navy submarine system environmental requirements
for the Virginia class submarine. The enclosure is designed
to integrate Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment into
the U.S. Navy Virginia Class Attack Submarine Structural Integrated
Enclosure (SIE). The VA SIE Enclosure is currently being fielded
by PEO C4I PMW 150 on the Virginia Class Submarine for the
Global Command and Control Systems - Maritime (GCCS-M) system.
