UPPER FAN TRAY:
-
The
upper fan assembly mounts between rear EIA side rails
spaced 17.9" to 18.1" apart.
-
Power
input connection is a mil-circular connector.
-
Connector
and cable harness is normally supplied with the lower
fan assembly power supply(s).
-
Split
input power from 2 DC power supplies is normal configuration.
LOWER
FAN TRAY:
- Assembly
mounts in cutout in the base of a GKI rack.
- An
included, slide-in, washable filter assembly drops through
the rack base and is removable from the front, below the
rack.
- Power
input connection is a mil-circular connector.
- Connector
and cable harness is normally supplied with the lower
fan assembly power supply(s).
- Split
input power from 2 DC power supplies is normal configuration
- The
lower fan assembly can be recessed into the rack base
plate to provide a 0RU bottom fan.

| SAIC
has designed a pair of fan assemblies to provide superior
ventilation for racks with high heat loads and noise level
limits. Each tray can be populated with 140 to 190 CFM fans
(6 per tray) to provide 840 to 1140 CFM total. The push-pull
arrangement provides positive ventilation and minimizes hot
spots at the top of the rack. Positive presssurization can
be created by proper fan selection. Asynchronous DC fans minimize
noise and vibration at single frequencies. The fan selection
can be tailored to meet power consumption (efficiency), heat
load, and noise level limitations.

OPTIONS:
UPPER
FAN TRAY:
- A
low-loss EMI, drip-proof filter (normally supplied with
the rack) is available.
- An
EMI honeycomb or louvered panel is available.
- A
water-cooled heat exchanger to cool exhaust air is available.
- Unit
may be powered from the lower fan assembly or a dedicated
DC power supply
LOWER
FAN TRAY:
- Unit
may be powered from one or two dedicated DC power supplies.
- Unit
may share power supplies with an Upper Fan Tray.
- Unit
may be mounted above the rack base for racks without bottom
intake clearance.
