NIST Common Criteria certification to Evaluation Assurance Level
4 (4+ medium robustness) and US Navy IATO qualifications validate
the product’s secure operation and functionality in most
military LANs. Complimenting the firewall in the base product
is a flexible server card pre-configured with Microsoft Windows
2000 Server™ (other operating systems are available) running
on the same hardware options as the firewall component.
The HFS allows for a single network security appliance that provides
stateful packet screening, application level network traffic inspection
and a DMZ hosting platform in a small form factor. Expansion capabilities
within the 2RU chassis include additional network connectivity,
Ethernet switches or additional servers such as video, database,
web, file and e-commerce. Based on these capabilities, a single
HFS can reduce a network architecture footprint by as much as
60% of an entire communications rack of head-end and DMZ equipment
(see diagram below).
FEATURES:
All components with the SAIC HFS are delivered to the customer
ruggedized to MIL-901D and pre-tested for complete operational
functionality. This internal ruggedization helps to reduce the
danger of system degradation due to a physical shock or vibration
event in a commercial, industrial, or tactical environment. The
unique reduced depth of the HFS allows for placement in confined
rack spaces including top rack position in submarines.
