SUNRAY
1g ULTRA-THIN CLIENTS
The
Sun Ray 1"thin client" connects to a server over
a dedicated network to provide session portability with
no desktop administrative load. A removable smart card identifies
the current user to allow the use of the client workstation
by multiple users. It accepts USB peripheral devices to
expand functionality of the workstation.
The SunRay I eliminates maintenance at the desktop with
no operating system or software and eliminates all upgrades
at the desktop. It is a stateless appliance with a simple
“plug-and-work” set-up or replacement. It eliminates
the need to upgrade desktop resources to take advantage
of new applications. It has low power consumption with centralized
management for more efficient utilization of computing resources.
Load distribution and fail over are supported with server
grouping. Accessibility to a large number of applications
running on the Solaris™ Operating System, Java™
technology, Microsoft Windows, and other UNIX® platforms,
and 3270/5250 environments. Enables access to user’s
session from any Sun Ray ultra-thin client in the network.
There is no need for multiple systems on the desktop. Delivers
server class performance to the desktop. The ultimate desktop
