| The
Rugged Compaq Proliant DL360 G3 Server is a completely
integrated product. The
unit is designed for quick and easy installation into commercial
and military racks with standard EIA 310C mounting rails.
Included with the server is a set of mil-spec heavy-duty
locking slides. The slides provide for an additional 4” of
over travel to allow acces to attach cables and for cable
management.
The
depth of the DL360 G3 actually decreases 1” when
it is mounted into a rack due to the protrusion at the
face of the unit. This protrusion is to accommodate clean
filtered
air from the rack entering the DL360 G3 at the bottom of
the faceplate on the mounting kit. The design enables the
rack that houses the DL360 G3 to remain positively pressurized,
and helps prevent dust from entering the rack and damaging
components. The protrusion also provides a drop-down window
for viewing and maintaining the hard drives and removable
media in the server.

The Information
Systems Integration Division (ISID) of SAIC’s Tactical Information Systems Division has
incorporated their rugged rack mounting and internal ruggedization
kit for the next generation HP/Compaq Windows Server; the
Proliant DL380 G3. This completly ruggedized DL360 G3 Server
is designed to withstand the harsh shipboard environments
found in Centrixs Blk 2, Integrated Shipboard Network Sytem
(ISNS), and Global Command Control System - Maritime (GCCS-M)
32” deep racks.
